River Report

Livingstone River September 26, 2004

Great day of the Livingstone River, fishing pick up around lunch when the sun finally came out. Temps warmed up to around 19C. The water was nice and clear, a little high for Fall, but very wadeable. We caught a couple dozen Cutts each, most were in the 15-16 inch range with a couple 18s. There were a few ants around mixed in the the BWO's and it seemed like the trout were keying in on the Ants. The hot fly of the day was the #16 brown ant.

Hot Fly Patterns

  • Dries: #16 rusty brown ant, #18 BWO, #16 parachute adams#14 elk hair caddis, #12 foam beetle, #12 olive paradrake.
  • Nymphs: #18 BWO nymph, #16 theo, #14 prince.
  • Streamers: #10 black geek leech, #4 double bunnies
