Equipment

The name of the game here is Dry fly fishing

A 3wt 8 foot rod is great for the small Brook Trout Streams. For rivers like the Oldman and Livingston, a good start would be a 4 wt rod from 8 to 9 feet, a lighter rod is fun, but its under powered for the larger Cutts and the Bull Trout. Our choice for the Highwood River would be an 8.5 foot rod in a 4 to 5 weight.

For reels and lines, a single action reel will suffice, disc drag is nice on the larger river. Only floating lines are needed unless we try some streamer fishing for the bull where a sink-tip line will come in handy.

Our guides are heavily stocked with flies, but feel free to bring your own favorite pattern.
